The Clansmen name has been associated with the Gordon Setter since 1971. In this span Clansmen bred Gordons have won over 170 Group placements, 25 Specialty Best of Breeds and accounted for nine separate years of top Gordon Setter in Canada honours. Clansmen Gordon Setters have won the Canadian National Specialty twice and include six Gordon Setter Club of America top producers. This Clansmen success includes a number of American Specialty and group winners and some of the all time top winning Gordons in Canada.
In over 25 years Jim Stomp has bred, owned and handled four Best in Show Gordon Setters and produced over 50 champions. In addition a Clansmen Gordon has sired a Dual Champion and other Clansmen offspring have received field placements under the training and handling of Les Oakes.
Today as in the past the objective of Jim Stomp and Les Oakes is to produce a dog that is a combination of good friend, show dog and bird dog. This is attained by using only those dogs which demonstrate the highest qualities of conformation, temperament, and performance.
Beauty, Brains and Birdsense are the trademarks of Gordon Setters and are the standards to which we at Clansmen and Sevenoaks breed our present day line of Gordon Setters.
